I bought this to repaste a GPU and CPU; I had read it was notoriously viscous.
I will probably read as someone who is failing due to user error, but I used any and all known techniques/workarounds in applying this paste, and it was just not worth the nightmarish effort when looking at the results.
I was succesfull in using it to repaste my GPU, but I have no other repasting context to compare it to.
I had to re-apply the paste multiple times to my CPU; initial attempts failed because the paste mostly clumped up/dried/stuck to the supplied paddle. When I finally got a working application, there was no visible improvement in temperatures compared my last paste (Arctic MX6).
During a recent CPU upgrade, I tried to use the remaining Thermalright TFX and got stuck without any paste at all, after similar application issues caused me to run out halfway through a second attempt. I went and bought some Arctic Mx6 and everything was back to normal, first time.
I am just failing to see why it's worth going through the nightmare of applying this stuff if the results are not worth it!
